Learning Without Walls

Our Learning Without Walls projects encourage students to think more like experts in their field of study. These collaborative projects allow students to work together to achieve a common goal. Project examples:

Global warming

4th Grade
Students research and define global warming, identify critera for an ideal environmental policy, and evaluate current environmnetal policies. The program culminates in a community outreach project designed to raise awareness of global warming.

Waterways

5th Grade
By collaborating with fifth grade peers across the country via blogging, students investigate freshwater supplies through research and interviews. Students develop a video presentation of their conclusions, along with a Water Bill of Rights.

Drafting

6th Grade
Partner classes work within a budget to define and design the perfect learning environment. Using web and video conferencing, students solve challenges, analyze proposals and assess various perspectives. Each class presents their computer-generated blueprints and photographs of their ideal learning environments.

 Hands with plant

8th Grade
