May Newsletter

Dear Parents,

May has arrived and we are so excited to be spending more time outdoors enjoying nature and the wonderful weather!  Many of our classes have been learning about insects as they are becoming more and more noticeable on our playgrounds and yards.  The PreK and Intermediates classes have already observed the lifecycle of a butterfly while watching caterpillars go through their metamorphosis and were excited to release their butterflies in the “wild” of our playground over the last few weeks.

Summer is quickly approaching.  Don’t forget that our summer activity fee ($75)is due for children in our Beginners class and older.  This fee will cover a Chesterbrook Academy camp t-shirt and special visitors including storytellers, a magician, puppet theaters and a petting zoo to name a few.

Children entering Kindergarten in the fall and older will be participating in our Travel Camp program and will be engaged in tons of hands on fun both here at Chesterbrook and on interesting field trips such as The American Helicopter Museum, The Strasburg Railroad, The Delaware Children’s Museum and Linvilla Orchard.

A few reminders:

-Don’t forget to sign your child in and out each day.

-Sunscreen season is here.  Please make sure your child has an updated consent form and new bottle of sunscreen here at the school.  We ask that you apply your child’s sunscreen each morning before arrival.  The teachers will apply sunscreen before outdoor play each afternoon.

Thanks so much,

Your Acting Principal,

Laura Hughes
