Chesterbrook Academy Pembroke Pines’ Back to School drive for the SOS Children’s Village

July 8, 2015

Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,

This summer, one of the things our school has been focusing on is teaching the children the importance of helping others. Classroom activities have included ways that we can be kind to each other at school, home, and even within our communities. Our Beginner, Intermediate, Pre-K, and Kindergarten Kick Off students have engaged in discussions about kindness and how they feel when someone says something nice to them or when someone does a thoughtful deed for them.

Donating to charity is a great way for us to teach our little ones the importance of appreciating what they have and spreading joy amongst others who are less fortunate and that is exactly what we would like to do by hosting a Back to School supply drive for the SOS Children’s Village.  The SOS Children’s Village is a foster care community located right here in South Florida. This is a community of 12 houses that are home to up to 75 boys and girls.  With their promise of “Healing, Hope and Home for Every Child” assures every child growing up in the Village a safe and secure home, a nurturing family, a vibrant childhood and array of services to help them overcome their past traumas and build a successful future.

We are asking for your help and support with ensuring that the children of the SOS Children’s Village have the supplies they need for a successful school year by dropping off an from their attached wish list to the box in our front lobby by Monday, August 3rd.  Our goal is to be able to provide the SOS Children’s Village with 100 Back to School items.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to send me an e-mail to Christina.Roberts@nlcinc.com or stop by the front office.

Thank you for your continued support and always partnering with Chesterbrook Academy Pembroke Pines to build a strong learning foundation for your children and helping our community.

Sincerely,

Christina Roberts, Principal
