September Newsletter 2015

September Newsletter

Welcome to the 2015-16 Academic Year!  I am so excited to begin a new year with all of the children and their families here at Estelle Drive.  I cannot believe how quickly the summer passed.  We have lots of new faces, new classrooms, and a few new teachers in new program levels.  All of the teachers are excited to start a brand new year.  All of us on staff would like to express the importance of communication with our families.  Please do not hesitate to call, email or stop by during the day to observe or visit your children.  We promise to write, verbally communicate and Parent Share as much as we can throughout the week concerning your child. If any concerns arise please see Miss Lauren or myself.

September kicks off with one of our first fundraisers for the year.  Please understand this is part of our yearly programming to aid our school.   This year, I had the opportunity to serve on our company’s Ancillary Team, and helped select various vendors and products that would interest our demographics.  I hope you enjoy the new products and selections as well as some “oldies, but goodies”.  Believe Kids, Food for the Soul begins the first week of September.  Ordering packets have been placed in each parent mailbox, the big red basket.  The order forms and monies are due by September 11th.  Please make checks payable to Chesterbrook Academy. Thank you in advance for your support in our fundraising efforts.

Remember to check out our new website design.  Here you can find our activity calendar for the month, menu and other information.  We will have hard copies of menus available in the lobby as well.  Beginning this year, as a school we will be practicing a character word a month.  The character word for September will be ‘Caring’.  During Miss Wendy’s Principal Reading Time we will talk about how we can care for each other and continue these acts of caring all year long.

As the days continue to stay warmer and eventually become cooler, begin thinking about bringing in a seasonal change of clothes for your children.  We will at some point send home summer clothes and sunscreen.  If you have not already, please take home all water day items, shoes, towels and suits.  Please remember to label your child’s clothing, jackets, bottles, nap items and sippy cups to avoid confusion of items being sent home with another family.

Once again, thank you for allowing us to teach, nurture and love your children every day! The staff and I are looking very forward to an exceptional academic school year full of wonder, experiences, learning and growth in each and every child that attends our warm and friendly school.

With Warmest Regards,

Wendy A. Musser, Principal
