Dear Parents,
Happy April, Happy Spring! April is a busy month at Chesterbrook Academy, one we affectionately call “Appreciation Month”. We are going to be celebrating the children, parents and staff that make our school so wonderful.
We will begin the celebrations during the week of April 11th with Child Appreciation Week with the following fun activities:
-Monday, April 11th is Dress Up Day. Your child is invited to dress like a superhero, princess or his/her favorite character.
-Tuesday, April 12th is our Ice Cream Sundae Buffet. Each classroom will make ice cream sundaes for afternoon snack. Yum!
-Wednesday, April 13th is our annual Teddy Bear Picnic. Bring your favorite Teddy Bear and enjoy a picnic lunch outside!
-Thursday, April 14th will be our Spring Garden Party from 5 to 7 p.m. You are invited to join us for flower pot decorating, an egg hunt, cupcake decorating and a pizza party among other fun activities. More details will be distributed shortly.
-Friday, April 15th is Pajama Party Day. Dress in your favorite pajamas for a day of fun. At 10 a.m. we will welcome The Amazing Spaghetti, a local children’s magician, courtesy of our Parent Activities Council!
The week of April 18th will be Parent Appreciation Week. The highlight of this week will be our annual Lady Bug Release on Friday, April 22nd at 10 a.m. We invite you to join us on the preschool playground as we release thousands of live ladybugs in honor of Earth Day. Other activities planned include:
-Muffins with Mom on Monday, April 18th. Muffins and juice will be available in the lobby. You can enjoy them in your child’s classroom during your morning drop off time from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
-Special projects made with love will be sent home on Wednesday, April 20th.
-Donuts with Dads will be enjoyed on Thursday, April 21st from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Donuts and juice will be available in the lobby for you to take to your child’s classroom or enjoy as you come in.
-Storytime with Mom and Dad: We invite you to contact your child’s teacher and arrange a time to read a favorite book or two to your child and his/her classmates throughout the week.
We will close out the month of April by hosting Teacher Appreciation Week! We invite you to take a paper apple and write a note of appreciation to your child’s teacher(s). Paper apples will be available in a basket in the reception area beginning April 20th and will be displayed starting on Monday, April 25th in the lobby for all to see! We are also partnering with our PAC to provide a teacher appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, April 27th and a teacher appreciation breakfast on Friday, April 29th. Stay tuned for more information regarding this special week.
General Reminders:
-Please remember to sign your child in/out each day.
-Please check your child’s cubby for season-appropriate spare clothing. Accidents happen and we want your child to be as comfortable as possible in the event of one!
-Please remember that if your child has an allergy or dietary restriction, it is your responsibility to provide a substitution for menu items. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to Laura.
Thanks again for your continued support,
Laura Hughes
