As our school year comes to an end we are excited to announce one of the largest improvements is coming to Chesterbrook Academy at Mallard Creek. The new program will allow us to include our Parents in what is occurring in our school daily. It will allow us to send important reminders to our families and pictures of the children doing fun learning activities. Every family will need to add the app LINKS 2 HOME through the app store or google play. This will allow you to receive the communication being sent by the teachers of your child. Our teachers will be using ipads to deliver the info to you and monitor attendance in their classrooms. In addition they can store data for portfolio records and to share with you memories that are being created every day.
Summer camp will be enhanced with the new tadpole program being used in the school. The calendar is ready and will be given out to each camper who has paid summer camp activity fees. If you have not paid the fee please remember it is due by June 1st. The helps covers the expenses related to the additional activities that families want for the child in the summer. In house field trips, additional cooking/science projects, special snacks or meals, a variety of arts and crafts, and a camp tshirt with the summer logo.
St. Jude’s is a children’s hospital that provide care for children with all levels of illness, many being terminal. We have chosen them as our organization to sponsor in 2016. The trike a thon will will be held on June 9th. Each class will participate and will be going outside in the front parking lot during their scheduled outside time for the morning. The children will bring their bicycle and safety gear with them to school on the morning of the event. There will be a sign with the classroom name indicating where you will place your child’s bike. Please make sure the bike is labeled to ensure we know who’s bike it is. Donations can be done online and also turned into the school through the collection envelope we have provided. A letter with specific details will be passed out in the classrooms, check your child’s file.
Graduation will be held on June 14th at the Birkdale Chesterbrook Academy exit 25 off I-77. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. All students must be at the school by 6:30 p.m. and taken to the first classroom on the right side of the building. We ask children wear suitable clothing, no jeans or shorts. Their will be light refreshments following the ceremony and all festivities will end by 8 p.m. Cap and Gown Fees are due by Friday June 6th.
Reminder to those who are looking to leave Chesterbrook Academy that we require a 4 week notice. We cannot waive this notice as it is set by the corporate office. REMINDER: If your child leaves and you wish to return for the fall be mindful that you must have the registration fee paid before you leave. In addition you will be placed on a waiting list for your return date, as your child’s space you are leaving will be filled immediately. We are only allowed to enroll a specific number of children and cannot exceed that in any classroom. If you want to ensure that your child will have a placement when you return, you will need to continue paying tuition weekly.
Fall 2016 – 2017 begins in August. We will begin transitions into new classrooms with the children who are currently in the school June – August and will fill any remaining spaces with children returning or coming to the school for the first time.
