Happy February! I have to kick off this month with the traditional Ground Hogs Day. It is time for Phil the ground hog to give his winter forecast. What is interesting to me is that this tradition started in 1887 in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania and continues today. So the question is, will Phil see his shadow and predict 6 more weeks of winter or will it be an early spring. Since his success rate is about 39% I would not trade in the meteorologists predictions yet. Maybe they should work together to give us an even more accurate forecast!
Remember that is we are opening late or closing for inclement weather, we will send a notice on Tadpoles, put it on our voicemail for the school phone number and add a message to our school website homepage. In the event of an Early Dismissal during our hours of operation, we will utilize these resources in addition to contacting parents of children in our care at that time. We pride ourselves of doing our best to serve our families and maintain our regular school operations, however there are times when we must open late, dismiss early, or close due to extreme weather conditions and/or school conditions. Thank you to all of our families and staff for their understanding and cooperation throughout this winter. Your safety and that of your children and our staff is important to us.
Please remember to pick up a copy of the Menu and Calendar in the classroom. There are several important events throughout the month I know your child will not want to miss.
Our annual licensing inspection is coming up and we will be sending out paperwork that may need to be updated. Please check your child’s cubby daily. It is imperative that we maintain our records to ensure we meet the state requirements. Thank you to all of our families for their cooperation!
Please be sure to mark your calendars now, for our next Teacher In-service Day on President’s Day, Monday, February 20th.
Thank you to all of our families for taking a few minutes out of your already busy days to complete our recent Parent Survey. The information collected will help us to better meet the needs of all of our families, and we appreciate you taking the time to respond. And, last but certainly not least, a very warm welcome to all of our new families that have joined us over the past few weeks!
Have a great month!
