Note from the Principal
What a busy month April was! We hope that all of our families enjoyed all of the wonderful activities and events we had going on. We have another busy month in May as we approach the end of the school year. During this month, we will celebrate our teachers and all of the wonderful things they do for our students and their families. Teacher Appreciation Week will be from May 1st-5th. On May 5th, we will have our St. Jude Trike-A-Thon at 10 am that our students have been working hard to fundraise for.
During this month our students’ literacy focus will be on all types of animals and bugs. Our students will be releasing their butterflies during the first week in May. Mother Goose will be back to host a “Farm Yard Favorites” Show on May 9th. We will also have an “Animal Day” for our Spirit Day on May 12th. For Mother’s Day, we will have a Muffins with Mom celebration on May 15th at 9 am. On May 18th, all of our classrooms will participate in a Deep Sea Sensory Activity.
One of the most exciting parts of this month is hatching and raising chicks! This is been one of our most loved programs the past couple of years and we are happy to participate again this year. Our two chicks and seven eggs will arrive sometime on May 10th or May 11th. Our Pre K 2 students will care for the eggs as they are incubating over approximately three weeks. We will also have our two chicks here during the four week long program to help our students learn about chicks and chickens.
During the month of May, we will also have a weeknight Open House for families interested in joining our school. The Open House will be from 5 pm to 7 pm and anyone interested is welcome to attend. As a reminder, we have a Parent Referral Program for families who refer their friends and family to join our school. Please see our Communication Board in the lobby for more information.
As a reminder, we will be closed on Monday, May 29th, in observance of Memorial Day. I hope that everyone enjoys the exciting month we have planned here at Chesterbrook Academy at Great Falls Plaza. Please see either myself or Ms. Diana with any questions you may have.
Kindly,
Kirstin Baker

From Chesterbrook Elementary
Our elementary school is a unique private school community. We provide a superior education today and a foundation for continued academic success tomorrow. We partner closely with parents to create the best understanding of each child’s strengths and opportunities. We offer personalized attention to students, without the high tuition rates you would expect for a private school of this caliber.
