Welcome to a new school year! We are very excited to have a few new students joining us this academic year. It is hard to believe that September of 2020 is actually here. The staff and I would like to truly thank all of our families for being patient with the health and safety guidelines that we have been practicing since June 17th. We know that children are resilient and your children have definitely proven that fact. Your children are washing hands, wearing their masks and coping very well despite the circumstances in our world. I always thank you for allowing us to care for your children; I again repeat, thank you for allowing us to no just teach them; but keep them healthy and happy.
A few items that do look a bit different this year, one being our extra curricular activities. For now we will not be hosting Soccer Shots, Dance or Yoga until we allow vendors inside our building. Our other new program is “Club Connect”, Room 6 in our building this year will be designated to a few elementary school children who will be doing virtual learning here during the day versus going “in person” to the elementary school. Our van transportation begins on Tuesday, August 25th to the local elementary schools. Please be on the lookout for our vans coming and going at drop off and pick up. A note that starting the week of August 24th, we have begun our old operating hours of 6:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Temperatures will still be taken at the door and health questions surveyed. We ask for your patience at the drop off times, we expect numerous families to arrive early. A reminder that if you come early for pick up in the afternoon, please call into the school to let us know you are here. We typically are keeping an eye out for parents around 3:45 pm time.
Please remember to bring packet lunches until September 4th. Hot lunches will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.
Chesterbrook Academy will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.
We want to welcome a few new staff to our building. Miss Nicole Milburn has worked for Chesterbrook for numerous years. She will be assisting us in the early morning with drop off and driving elementary children to school. Miss Nicole transferred from our Northpointe location and began with us on August 17th. Mrs. Lisa Sellers will be teaching our Kindergarten Enrichment program and aiding in guidance for the Club Connect Kindergartners as well. Lisa will begin her duties on Thursday, August 27th. Lisa holds a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Mrs. Despina Snyder will be returning to our Infant room on August 24th ; as well as Miss Tessa Bartles. Tessa will be assisting in our Intermediate program.
The week of August 24th will be a week of “Getting to Know” our new students and become familiar with new routines. The children transitioned well into their new spaces. Miss Becky, Miss Megan and Ms. Dessi will be our Infant staff. Ms. Taylor and Miss Dorene will be our Toddler staff. Miss Steviesue and Mr. Patrick will be our Beginner staff. Ms. Aislinn and Miss Tessa will be our Intermediate staff. Ms. Dawn and Miss Kristen will be our Prekindergarten staff. Ms. Lisa will be our Kindergarten staff. Ms. Katie and Miss Rose will be our Club Connect and Before and After staff. Ms. Dore will prep our meals and assist in the school where needed.
Nap items will once again be sent home each Friday to launder for the week starting on August 28th. We also ask to bring in a change of seasonal change of clothes for your child’s cubby in case of spills or accidents. Since our mornings have already started to be on the chilly side, please bring a sweatshirt or light jacket to keep in your child’s cubby for our playground times.
