Dear Families,
Happy Holidays! This is our favorite time of year, to see the joy and wonder in the children’s eyes. This is the time of year to witness the excitement of the holidays celebrated at this time of year. It is also the time of year to give back to our communities for those less fortunate. During December we have many activities planned to celebrate the month and to give back to our community. In our lobby we have donation boxes ready to collect canned and non perishable food items for two weeks. We will be delivering the food to the Hempfield Food Pantry during the week of December 11th. Please consider donating a canned or boxed items during the next two weeks.
Santa is coming to Chesterbrook Academy on Saturday, December 9th! Please join us for a Pancake Breakfast starting at 9 am. The morning will be filled with breakfast, crafts, music, and Santa and Mrs. Claus. We plan on having Santa arriving at 11:00 am for pictures and a treat. Families are welcome to come only for Santa’s visit. If you plan on attending the breakfast, please sign the sign up sheet on the parent counter to let us know who is coming. Parent Night Out is scheduled for Friday, December 15th from 6 to 8 PM. We will provide dinner, play, crafts and care by our teaching staff. The cost is 10.00 per child, sibling 5.00. Do some last minute shopping or a quiet dinner with your loved one. Please sign up on the parent counter if interested.
Our children will be very busy with many literacy activities and fine motor activities too. We will kick off the month of December with our Tree Lighting and Elf on the Shelf story. A week later, we get “All Aboard” on the Polar Express in our PJs and practice many of our curriculum links in relation to the book that Miss Wendy will read to the entire school. We finish out the month with a New Year’s Noon Party in our classrooms.
Parents we will need your help in being wonderful judges of our Annual Holiday Door Decorating Contest. There will be a chance to vote the best door in the school! More details to come!
We will be closed Monday, December 25th and Monday, January 1st in observance of the holidays.
Thank you for allowing us to care, teach and love your children every month of the year! We look forward to spending 2018 with all of our wonderful families.
Happy Holidays,
Wendy A. Musser, Principal
