The new year is a time for a fresh start, where we can put any worries behind us and move forward to a brighter tomorrow! At Chesterbrook Academy at Drexel University, we are absolutely thrilled to enter 2018 and begin our first full year as a preschool community. We can’t thank you all enough for being on this journey with us. The next few months will be chock full of learning experiences captured through play in our Infant through Pre-K classrooms. We will welcome in new students and open three brand new classrooms for our Infant and Toddler programs. As our school continues to grow and evolve, we encourage you to share your feedback and suggestions via our upcoming Parent Assurance Review survey. But the feedback shouldn’t stop there! Once the survey period is over, I invite you to chat with me directly anytime via email, by phone, or in person. My door is always open, and so are my ears!

Please check the monitor in the front lobby for a heads up when a spirit day is approaching. Don’t forget that up-to-date information is also available via our school website at any time.
Here’s a quick look at the many things to come this month:
SCHOOL CLOSED – NEW YEAR’S DAY
Monday, January 1st
Chesterbrook Academy at Drexel University will be closed on Monday, January 1st in observance of New Year’s Day. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, January 2nd. On behalf of our entire CBA Drexel team, we wish you and your family a happy and healthy start to 2018!
EAGLES TEAM SPIRIT DAY
Friday, January 12th
CBA Drexel loves our Philadelphia Eagles! Show your spirit for the team by wearing your Eagles gear – jerseys, t-shirts, hats, and more! If you root for another football team, that’s okay too – come to school showing off your spirit for the team you love!
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY
Monday, January 15th
“I have a dream…” And what a great dream it was! Our students will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by learning about his achievements and thinking about their own dreams for the world. Talk to your child about the dreams that he/she has for the future and how we can go about making that dream a reality.
CBA DREXEL SERVICE DAY
Tuesday, January 16th
We will continue our celebration of the great Martin Luther King Jr. by completing a school-wide service project to support our friends at the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP). Our classes will make special art projects that will be delivered to CHOP to help brighten the day of young patients undergoing treatment, as well as their families.
WINTER TRANSITION VISITS
Wednesday, January 17th through Friday, January 19th
Infant and Toddler students who are moving up to a new class this month will visit their new rooms to get to know their environment and teachers. If your child is scheduled to transition to the next level classroom, you will receive a letter via email with additional details no later than the first week of January.
WINTER OPEN HOUSE
Saturday, January 20th
Send over a friend, family member, or co-worker from 10:00am-1:00pm to learn more about our renowned preschool programs. On-the-spot registration will be available for families looking to enroll their child(ren) immediately or for the 2018-2019 school year. Don’t forget – you can earn one free week of tuition for each family that you refer! Please see Julie or I for more details.
DRESS LIKE A SUPERHERO DAY
Thursday, January 25th
CBA Drexel students are each super in their own way, which means we’re all superheros, right? Dress to impress in superhero gear of any type! Show off your love for your favorite fictional superhero by wearing attire with their photo, or go all out with a full superhero costume.
As always, please reach out with any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns. Thank you for your ongoing support of Chesterbrook Academy at Drexel University!
Kind regards,
