Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
It is February and love is in the air! Here at Chesterbrook Academy we are embracing our love of learning. All of our classes, the youngest infants through the oldest Pre-K students, are loving our hands-on learning and sensory experiences. Students are engaging in manipulative play to strengthen their math skills and letter exploration to aid in recognition and word building. Our sensory experiences throughout the month will help students understand hot and cold, as well as better understand the different states of water as they see how fast, or slow, ice melts in to water. Our students of all ages will be creating snow and making ice paintings.
Valentine’s day is right around the corner and students will be learning to embrace love, friendship and giving. Teachers will be working with their classes to teach what kindness is and how we can express it towards each other. Students throughout the school will also participate in a Valentine Day Party and card exchange. During this time, we will be learning all about love. We will learn how to express a love of friendship and embrace all of our friends in our class. Parties and card exchanges will take place on Wednesday, February 14th at 3:30pm.
Reminder: Chesterbrook Academy will be closed on Monday February 19th. Our teachers will be participating in an inservice day to strengthen their skills and gather fun, new teaching ideas to incorporate in to their daily routines.
It is never too late to sign up for our extracurricular activities. From Lil’ Sports to Makin’ Music to Yoga, our extracurricular activities allow our students to experience an added “kick” to our curriculum.
Lil’ Sports – Wednesdays at 9:30am
Makin’ Music – Thursdays at 10:00am
Yoga – Fridays at 10:00am
Please see Catie or Kristen if you are interested in getting your child involved.
**If we were to get hit with any more hazardous weather, you will be kept well aware. Closings, delays or early dismissals will be communicated through email, posted on our website and listed on our local television channel/website 6 ABC-WPVI.**
