From the Principal’s Office
As April begins, we hope to finally see some sunny, Spring weather! Classes go outside on a daily basis as weather permits this time of year, so please be sure you child is dressed appropriately for the changing weather and has a complete change of clothes in their cubby box.
You may have noticed several changes in staff recently. Several teachers have returned to Chesterbrook after some time away to spend more time with their families. Ms. Stephanie has done a wonderful job in the Beginner’s room so far! She has worked with many different ages of children and even used to be the director of our Regency location. Ms. Clair has also returned to her spot in the Intermediate I classroom after spending the past year with her children. We are thrilled to welcome these teachers back and look forward to seeing the children succeed under their guidance. This month we also had a very difficult goodbye as Ms. Chassidy left our Infant classroom. As many of you know, she went to school part time to become a CNA last year and has recently accepted a full time position in a nursing home. We are thrilled for her endeavor but we will miss her and Chalmers! As always, we aim to make the transitions as seamless as possible for you and your children!
Until next time,
Vikki & Tracy

The month of April means we will be celebrating Earth Day! The holiday is on Sunday, April 22nd, so we will be celebrating on Friday, April 20th. This year, we will be raising money for the Ecology Action Center, which works to build local recycling and environmental programs. We will be hosting a bake sale with delicious baked goods made by our students! The sale will be held at the front desk from April 11-18th, so please stop by to help us support this wonderful program.
We will also be participating in the Week of the Young Child during the week of April 16th – 20th to celebrate the education of our youngest learners. As the week approaches, we will post a daily schedule of events throughout the week at the front desk. We hope to see many of our children and families participating!
For Parents
We still have several openings in some of our classes and would love your help in filling them! You can help by referring friends and family who may be looking for a wonderful preschool experience, such as Chesterbrook Academy. If you do refer a family, your family could earn a free week of tuition for every family that enrolls, which will be applied after three months of enrollment.
As you have probably noticed, many of our classes use donated shirts to cover students’ clothing during messy meals and activities. This means that we may go through many shirts in a day, so if you have any old shirts, please feel free to donate them to our classes!
Reminders
As a reminder, no outside food is allowed to be brought into the school unless accompanied by a doctor’s note due to several food allergies in our school. Any food brought into the school must be store bought and free of any peanuts and tree nuts.
If you child requires medication of any kind, please drop it off at the front desk to is may be locked up per DCFS regulations. We also have a medication sign-up sheets at the front desk if we need to distribute medication to you child during the school day.
