Summer is well underway and we are having a blast at Chesterbrook Academy in Chadds Ford! Students are enjoying a summer of sensory experiences with hands-on art projects, water play and lots of science experiments. Our weekly themes throughout the month of July include: “Express Yourself,” “Like a Champion,” “Brain Games,” “Tinker Around” and “STEAM Squad.” Students will make red, white and blue parfaits and “Solar S’mores,” for fun snacks this month. Our little scientists will explore the reaction of baking soda and vinegar, create their own playdough and build structures with toothpicks and clay.
Throughout the first couple of weeks of July, we will be raising money for the HEADstrong Foundation. Students will learn the great feeling you get when you help someone in need by having a 4th of July art show and a popcorn and lemonade stand! All proceeds from these events will go towards the HEADstrong Foundation. The money we raise will help keep families together when medical tragedies arise. Each student will also get their very own HEADS or TAILS donation box to collect change to help make a difference!
Our visitors for the month of July will be:
July 5th – Judy Tudy the Clown
July 13th – A Visit from the Fire Department
July 16th – Magic by Stuart
July 27th – Science Explorers Show
July 31st – The Franklin Institute Traveling Science Show
Our Travel campers field trip schedule:
July 11th – Bowling and Lunch at the Part
July 18th – Railroad Museum
July 25th – Delaware Children’s Museum
