- A Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and generally not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) VPK 2018-2019 School Year
As we embark on a new school year, it is imperative that we review VPK policies.
- Per State requirements, VPK student attendance is mandatory. Absences will require a doctor’s note. Children who are not attending on a regular basis may be subject to dis-enrollment. Our program is in demand. We currently have a waiting list for students wanting to attend VPK at Chesterbrook Academy.
- VPK classes are required to begin at 9:00 am SHARP! VPK instruction is only 3 hours a day and teachers need to start their daily routines on time. Please be sure to have your child ready to join the class a few minutes before the day begins.
- Drop-off is not the time to chat with your child’s teacher. Please schedule a specific time to meet if you would like to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have.
- VPK dismissal is at 12:00 pm SHARP! Please be sure to pick up your child within 5 minutes of dismissal time. Instruction must resume for full-time students and teachers need to follow their daily schedule directly following VPK. Chronic late pick-ups are subject to late fees and or dis-enrollment.
Thank you for your support!
VPK SCHEDULES:
VPK ONLY (AM) – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Classroom doors open at 8:50 am
ALL VPK ONLY STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING DISMISSAL TIME.

A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning
Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.
You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board”, so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills”, “Lesson Plan”, “Daily Schedule”, “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes”.
TUITION:
We have seen a recent increase in families missing tuition payment deadlines. We really must collect tuition in a timely manner to meet our financial obligations. Please remember that tuition is due the 1st business day of every week. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00pm the second business day of every week are subject to late fees. If tuition is not paid in full your child may not attend until the balance is paid in full. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you’d like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your weekly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every week, just let us know and we will get you signed up.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES:
If your child is signed up to attend a specific enrichment program, the monthly fee must be paid in full the first week of every month or your child may not attend the second week. Please understand, we are obligated to pay our physical fitness vendors in a timely manner for their services. Credits will not be issued for missed classes due to absence or non-payment.

Holiday Closures
Our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days each year. For the rest of 2018 the days we are closed are:
Links 2 Home
If you’re not currently receiving photos and daily reports for your child you can easily change this by downloading the Links 2 Home app on your phone. Just type ‘Links 2 Home’ in the search bar for the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After downloading Links 2 Home you can register with the same email address that you used to enroll your child in our school. If you have others that should be receiving emails or updates, please provide their emails and we can add them to the system.
Security Reminders
With so many new families starting in the fall this is a great time to review security procedures. You will be let in by someone at the front desk. For security purposes, please, do not hold the door and let in people that you do not know. All families should be signing in on the ipad located to the right when you come in the door. Everybody has their own personal pin code. You should not be sharing your pin code with anybody.
School Picture Day
It’s time to get spiffed up for fall pictures! Lifetouch will be taking photos of all of our students on September 4th, 5th, & 6th. Tuesday the 4th rooms 1-3, Wednesday the 5th rooms 4-6, and Thursday the 6th rooms 7-9. Please send your student to school in the clothes you want them to wear for their photo, they do not need to be in uniform for picture day. If you would like them to change out of their photo wear please provide a change of clothes. All photos will be taken before lunch and naptime to ensure optimal cuteness.
Parents Night Out!
On Friday, September 21st we will be on hand to care for your children while you enjoy a date night, run errands or just enjoy some much needed ‘me’ time. For an additional $30 your child can stay with us from pick-up until 10 pm. We will provide a dinner of pizza, cut veggies and fruit. Older children will enjoy popcorn and a movie in the school-age classroom. Children normally in the infant and toddler classrooms will enjoy music and then quiet time in their regular classrooms. A sign-up sheet is at the front desk. Please sign-up by September 14th so we can staff accordingly. We will only be able to provide this program if we have enough children sign up.
