Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
Where did the month of September go??? We have had so much learning fun in this back to school time that the month of September has flown by. October is upon us and we are so excited for the learning fun to continue. Fall is my favorite season because of the plethora of sensory experiences the students get to encounter. Seeing the leaves change color. Hearing the crunch of the leaves as we step on them. Feeling the crisp cool air and the insides of slimy pumpkins. Smelling the scents of pies baking. And tasting the delicious flavors of apple and pumpkin. Throughout the month, teachers will use the fall season to boost learning, from sorting and graphing leaves by color to exploring the insides of a pumpkin and planting pumpkin seeds to watch them grow and experience firsthand the life cycle of a plant.
We have many fun activities planned throughout the month of October including our Class Fall Parties and Fall Parade on Friday October 26th. Fire Prevention week is the week of October 7th and Pumpkin week is the week of October 15th. We are so excited to learn all about pumpkins. Friday October 19th is bring in a pumpkin to decorate day. Teachers will provide all the supplies, all you need is to bring in a small pumpkin! Picture Day is Monday October 29th. Don’t forget your smiles!
Our Extra Fun Extra Curricular activities will continue throughout October:
Soccer Shots – Tuesdays at 10am
Lil’ Sports – Wednesdays at 10am
Makin’ Music – Thursdays at 10am
As you can see, we have lots of fun activities going on throughout the month of October. Don’t miss out on any of the learning fun!
