Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
Tis the season to give thanks, spread joy and embrace love from family and friends! Thank you all for attending our Fall Festival and activities last month. Our staff take pride in the family environment we create daily for our students and having your participation in these events are greatly appreciated. December will again be another busy month for us with festive events, celebrations, holiday giving activities and winter break camp for returning school-agers.
Throughout the month we will be partnering with various charities and programs for holiday giving activities. Starting December 10th we will begin our season of giving with our Giving Tree project. Classrooms will be reading the story, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein and discussing how we can help others in our community through charitable contributions. Below are descriptions and important dates.
Senior Baskets: We will be creating baskets to donate to a local senior center. Items that can be donated are puzzles, games, large print books, blankets, socks, slippers, ect. Our students will be making holiday cards and crafts to be included as well.
Toys for Tots: We will be partnering with our sister schools to collect and deliver new, unwrapped toys to a local Toys for Tots facility. Further information on the donation deadline will be provided at a later date.
12 Days of Giving: This year we are creating celebrating the holidays by providing our teachers with gifts for 12 days. We will need parent support for our potluck on the twelfth day of giving, December 21st. Sign-up information will be sent out to parents on December 10th.
Winter Break Camp will be available starting Friday, December 22nd through Friday December 29th ; spaces are limited. If you are in need of care for any of these dates please sign-up at the front desk.
Winter Ball: We are hosting our annual Winter Ball on Saturday, January 26th from 10am-1pm. Students will have a full on dance party and winter activities will be provided. All are invited; come dressed to impress!

Wednesday, January 2nd – Sports Day
Thursday, January 3rd – Class Color Day
Friday, January 4th – Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character

- December 17th – Wright Brothers Day; the children will explore the world of aviation
- December 21st – First day of Winter; National Ugly Holiday Sweater Day
- December 24th – Christmas eve (tentative normal business hours)
- December 25th – School will be CLOSED in observance of Christmas Day
- December 26th – Kwanza begins, National Candy Cane Day; Pajama Day
- December 31st – New Years Even/Neon “Noon” Year Party: Students will celebrate bringing in the new year with a bang of colors! Students and staff are encouraged to wear as many neon colors as they can
- January 1st : CBA is CLOSED in observance of New Years Day
