January 2019 Newsletter

Message from the Principal:

Hello Parents & Happy New Year!

We can’t wait to spend 2019 with you and your children. Thank you to all who participated in our holiday giving initiative last month to My Sisters House. Your generosity helped to provide necessities and Christmas Gifts to woman and children who are victims of domestic violence. You are truly appreciated!

I would like to personally thank each one of you on behalf of myself and the entire Chesterbrook Team for every well wish, wonderful note, card, food (yummm!) gift, etc. You always let us know how much you appreciate us and we are truly thankful for that.

The ambassador would serve as a partner with the Admin team would be available either by phone or email in your spare time to answer questions that a new family may have to assist us with securing and building the enrollment at the school. Yes, there will be an incentive for your partnership :). Please let Mrs. Andrea know if you’re interested.

Reminders:

Links 2 Learning Monthly Folders

Each month our teachers prepare folders that outline what your child has learned in the prior month. These folders have work samples in them and explain the skills that your child is working to master. We send these home at the end of each month and ask that they be returned a few days later. Please let us know if you have any questions about the monthly folders or about your child’s progress!

Illness Policy

Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:

• Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
• Vomiting, diarrhea or stomach upset
• Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 30 minutes
• Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
• Sore throat
• Skin rash,
• Head lice
• Symptoms of a communicable disease
• Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness

For more information please see our Parent Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team.
