January Newsletter

Dear Chesterbrook Parents:

Happy New Year!!  As we enter a new year, we are anxiously waiting for all the good blessings that will come in 2019… new adventures, wonderful memories to be made and, for some of our families, a new addition to the family!! Along with the good times, we will also face trials and challenges. We have survived many challenges in 2018 so it is hopeful we will do more than survive but thrive and grow in 2019.

A time of new beginnings and fresh starts also comes with a time of reflection. Whether your resolutions consist of keeping your hands out of the cookie jar or working on relationships with loved ones, it can take work. Wishing you a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings and that all your new resolutions will be accomplished!!

Parents- All Extra Enrichment programs– Soccer Shots, Music, Jump Bunch, Amazing Athletes, and Shining Stars will resume again this month. Please check in the lobby for more information.

January continues to be cold/flu season. Below are a few tips for staying healthy.

  • Continue to keep active and exercise
  • Get plenty of rest and a good night’s sleep
  • Wash hands often with soap and water
  • Sneeze into elbows, and wash hands after blowing noses
  • If someone in the household is ill, wipe down common surfaces (door knobs, counters) with disinfectant.

Some parents have asked about our sick policy so here is a review:

FEVER: When a child has a fever of 100 degrees or more (under the arm) or 101 degrees (ear thermometer), parents will be notified and the child needs to be picked up. He/she cannot be re-admitted to school until he/she has been fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT the use of Tylenol or any other fever reducer.  This is not 24 hours from the same time he/she is sent home.

DIARRHEA: When a child has had 3 or more episodes of diarrhea, he/she cannot be admitted to school until he/she is diarrhea free for 24 hours. (This may vary with situation)

VOMITING: When a child has had 3 or more episodes of vomiting, He/she cannot return to school until he/she is no longer vomiting for a period of 24 hours from the most recent episode of vomiting.

Parents- Thank you for entrusting your children to us. It is our goal and vision to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for the children. Thank you for your continued support of our school.

Have A Healthy and Happy January 2019!!

Kristen
