February Newsletter

Will the groundhog see his shadow tomorrow? I am crossing fingers for an early spring.

It’s hard to believe that we are flying through the school year and that the month of February is upon us. This winter, we have had many seasonal weather lessons inside and outside the classroom, indeed!

Safety is always our number one priority. Please remember that plastic containers are much safer than glass when providing foods for your children. Beverages can be kept at school in labeled, original containers, and stored in the refrigerator in the kitchen. With holiday or birthday celebrations, please ensure all snacks (especially baked goods) are packaged and labeled “school safe” and made in a nut free facility.

Safety is also important with checking in and checking out your child. Please remember to enter your pin at the front desk upon arrival and departure. In addition, during the winter months, illnesses are on the rise. Our illness policy indicates that parents must keep sick children at home until symptom free for 24 hours. Illness includes fever of 100 degrees or more, vomiting, diarrhea, heavy nasal discharge, barking cough, sore throat, skin rash and fussy, cranky behavior. We also do our part in sanitizing classrooms more frequently.

Tax information is available on the Alma portal. Please ask Jennifer or Nina for help if you are having difficulty accessing that information. Alma is also a great way to establish direct ACH withdrawal of your tuition. That is a convenient was to ensure you have one less thing to think about as busy parents.

February is a very busy month with many school events and classroom fun.

February 4 – start of Yankee Candle fund raiser. Great samples are available at the front lobby.

February 14 – Valentine class parties and “share the love” day. Please join us during class parties to make a special card for a local law enforcement friend, sick child (through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation) or even a special soldier who may not be with loved ones this time of year.

February 18 – staff in-service. School is closed to allow for safety and classroom education for our staff.

February 28 and March 1 – Laugh out Loud photos – a fun time for photos outside of our normal portrait days. More details to come.

Reminder: Please be sure to tune in 6ABC or watch your email for weather updates as we do not follow the local school schedule.

Stay tuned for registration for 2019-2020 school year and summer camp fun!

With February love from your Principal,

Donna Mugler
