Dear Parents,
March is sure to be another busy month at Chesterbrook Academy. Spring is around the corner and teachers are busy planning a variety of fun seasonal activities that will help our students learn more about the many changes which occur in our environment during springtime.
We will also like to thank you for all the toys and monetary donations for Juliana’s 7th annual Lemonade Stand. Juliana raised over $800 for children in need at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Juliana and her mother are so grateful for the big turn out and generous donations. Thank you again and till next year.
Now, this is the time to plan for next year. Our Links to Learning curriculum is designed for a smooth transition as children move into the next stage of their school journey. It is important to continue your child’s educational momentum by securing your child’s enrollment. We like to give our current families priority in registering for next year as well as a discount to say thank you for your continued support. Starting March 4th –March 15th we will run our Early Bird Registration promotion. All currently enrolled families who chose to stay with us after June 28th of 2019 will register by providing a check in the amount of $70.00 per child (non-refundable) and complete a yellow fee schedule so you are made aware of the tuition rates for the upcoming school year.
After March 15th, 2019 the re-registration rate will be the normal fee of $140.00 per child. On Monday, March 18th we will open registration to all of the families who have toured our school and have not joined our wait list and are just waiting to register for the school year starting July 1st and then on Saturday March 23rd registration will be open to the entire Pembroke Pines community between the hours of 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. during our annual Back To School Open House.
We invite families to tour other schools before making such a big decision and we are available to schedule tours for our families to visit the next program as well. We invite you to join us for a scheduled tour or stop in on Saturday, March 23rd from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. if that time is more convenient for your family. As always we also invite you to join us during one or all of our upcoming events in March.
Monthly teachers and students in all age groups are working hard at creating new dramatic play centers in their classrooms. Please take a moment to check out what your child’s classroom dramatic play theme will be. Thank you for donating items or letting us borrow items to make dramatic play a quality experience. Dramatic play can be defined as a type of play where children accept and assign roles, and then act them out. It is a time when they break through the walls of reality, pretend to be someone or something different from themselves, and dramatize situations and actions to go along with the roles they have chosen to play. And while this type of play may be viewed as frivolous by some, it remains an integral part of the developmental learning process by allowing children to develop skills in such areas as abstract thinking, literacy, math, and social studies, in a timely, natural manner.
We would like to thank all parents that participated in our PAR surveys. We are so grateful to be able to hear your thoughts and opinions and are taking them to the heart to make changes at our school. We greatly appreciate all the praise for our staff, school, and curriculum.
Best regards,
JB Arbelo-Bean, Principal
