Dear Chesterbrook Parents,
We also celebrated Earth Day last month. Together students at our school learned about lady bugs, counted bugs and made lady bug art. Celebrating Earth Day as a community provides our teachers with many opportunities to relate science, math and literacy concepts to everyday life. As we move into May, we are getting our classrooms ready for a summer of additional enrichment for our preschool students and summer camp for our school-age students. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your children and hope you’ll join us at the family activities we have planned this month!
We love our teachers! We will be celebrating our wonderful teachers May 6-10th. Please join me in thanking our teachers this Teacher Appreciation Week by showering them with recognition for all that they do. Feel free to participate however you are most comfortable. I have come up with themes to create some excitement and ways the children can be more involved.
Monday – You’re Our Hero!
Help teachers continue to be your hero! Children are encouraged to dress like super heroes. Gifts Themed Ideas: Super hero themed items, encouraging words/poems, books and letters.
Tuesday – Keep Calm And…Teach On!

Wednesday – Thanks a Latte!
Surprise your teacher with a pick-me-up! Many teachers run on coffee, like most adults. Gifts Themed Ideas: coffee, travel mugs, coffee mugs, books, magazines, gift cards to fill the cups.
