Important Information for the Month
Thank you all for helping our school celebrate Earth Day last month. Together students at our school released approximately 7,5000 lady bugs and planted a tree that was donated by Meadows Farm on our playground. Celebrating Earth Day as a community provides our teachers with many opportunities to relate science, math and literacy concepts to everyday life. As we move into May, we are getting our classrooms ready for a summer of additional enrichment for our preschool students and summer camp for our school-age students. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your children and hope you’ll join us at the family activities we have planned this month!
Our Summer Camp will begin on June 17! At this time, we are still accepting enrollments for camp in all of our age groups. For more information, visit the Camp section on our website or stop by the main office.
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:
• Fever over 100 degrees (taken axillary)
• Heavy nasal discharge
• Constant cough or indication of sore throat
• Unidentifiable skin rash
• Head lice
• Symptoms of a communicable disease
• Symptoms of pink eye/conjunctivitis
For more information please see our Parent Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team.
Our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days each year. For the 2018-2019 school year the days we are closed are:
August 23 and 24 (School Year Prep and Training for Staff)
Day After Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve (open with limited hours)
New Year’s Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
June 13 and 14 (Summer Camp Prep and Training for Staff)
Links 2 Home
If you’re not currently receiving photos and daily reports for your child you can easily change this by downloading the Links 2 Home app on your phone. Just type ‘Links 2 Home’ in the search bar for the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After downloading Links 2 Home you can register with the same email address that you used to enroll your child in our school. Please let us know if you have any questions!
Alma (Parent Portal)
All parents are automatically entered into our parent portal through Alma upon enrollment. If you have not received a link to set up your Alma account, please contact administration for assistance. The link to direct you to Alma is located on our website under “For Parents” and then “My Account.” Functions of the portal include payments, payment methods, account statements, contact information and authorization of individuals to pick up your child.
