From the Office of the Principal and Assistant Principal
We had such a busy April! During the week of April 8-12, we celebrated the Week of the Young Child! The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. We had fun things for all the children to do throughout the week with a different theme every day! On Thursday, April 18, we held Egg Hunts for all preschool classrooms to celebrate Easter! Then, on Monday, April 22, we had our Annual Ladybug Release, and released 5,000 ladybugs into nature with families in attendance.
This month will be just as busy! Teacher Appreciation Week will start on Monday May 6 through Friday May 10, 2019. During this week we will be doing lots of fun things for our wonderful teachers to show our appreciation for all of the hard work they do. We are sincerely grateful for our teachers and we want to make sure we thank them accordingly. We will be holding an Open House on Tuesday, May 7 from 5 pm-7 pm for all prospective families. We sincerely hope that all of our mothers have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday May 12! We will be hosting Mothers with Mom on Friday morning, May 10. Our Daisy Dance recital will be held on Monday May 20 at 9:30 am. Please remember that we will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Our PreK2 class will participate in a Spelling Bee as well on Friday, May 31 at 5:30 pm. Our PreK2 families should be on the lookout for more details about this event. Lastly, Links to Learning Folders will go home on Friday, May 31.
We are gearing up for Summer Camp with our preschoolers as well as our school agers. An email will go out in the coming weeks detailing the activities, calendar, and activity fees for our Preschool and Elementary Summer Camps this summer, so please be on the look out for that. Our Elementary Summer Camp is filling up fast, so make sure to sign up if you are interested in having your child attend!
As always, we will always be here to help you in any way possible if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
William Gordon, Principal

If there’s one thing parents love to do, it’s talk about their children’s successes. Do you talk about the new levels of self and social confidence your child has gained thanks to our encouraging atmosphere? Whatever glowing reports you deliver about how your child is growing with his or her education, we couldn’t be more appreciative. In fact, we’d like to show you just how thankful we are for your endorsements.
For every new child you refer who enrolls at our school for three months, you’ll receive one FREE week of tuition for your child.
It’s our way of saying thanks for doing what comes naturally – singing the praises of your child and sharing your experiences with the Chesterbrook Academy difference. If you have any questions about how you can participate in our Parent Referral Program, please contact an administrator.
