Summer is in full swing at Chesterbrook Academy! Students have done well with transitioning to the next level, and are keeping busy with new and exciting summer activities. It’s been fun having our school-age campers on campus. We are thrilled they are having a great time making new friends while discovering a wide variety of attractions. Be sure to pick-up a summer calendar (preschool/elementary) to stay connected with your child’s summer adventures.
Many of our older students have been taking time away from camp activities to volunteer prepare for our July fund-raiser, Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Our younger children are always captivated by children who are older than they are, and our preschoolers are benefitting from having so many excellent role models in the building this summer. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer holds for us!
This month we are celebrating Independence Day with a parade, holding Water Days for our younger students, swim days for our older kiddos, taking our campers on some exciting field trips, and we will be launching our Summer Parent Workshops. We are very excited about our workshops because they are free of charge to all our parents and to the community. In July, we will hold two workshops; How to Find the Right Preschool and Question/Answer with a Pediatrician.
Although it’s summer, we as early childhood educators continue to look ahead and plan for the upcoming school year. Our Links to Learning curriculum has always provided children with a well-rounded educational foundation. To stay current with the latest research and remain ahead of early education standards our teachers will attend summer training to sharpen their teaching skills.
July marks the beginning of our new fiscal year, which means there will be a small percentage increase in tuition effective July 1st. A 2019/2020 tuition rate sheet is posted on the front desk. If you have any questions, please let us know. Tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. A $25 late fee will automatically apply to all outstanding tuition invoices on the 5th business day of every month. Families who pay tuition in 2 installments must pay 50% on the 1st business day of every month and have a zero balance by the 16th business day of every month to avoid a late fee of $25.
School-age summer camp is a weekly billed program. Please submit payment every Monday on the weeks your child attends.

Water Day Reminders
We have four Water Days planned for the month of July. As a reminder, students should come to school in their swimsuit (with swim diaper where applicable), water shoes, and with a towel and a change of dry clothes. Please apply sunscreen to your child before you drop them off. Our currently scheduled water days are:
Summer Camp Reminders
Each school-age parent should have received a copy of our summer calendar listing all field trips and approximate departure and arrival times. However, if you have misplaced your copy, they are posted in the lobby, Changes will be communicated through Links 2 Home.
On field trip days, campers should arrive at school wearing their camp t-shirt with sunscreen already applied. Campers should have a reusable water bottle at camp each day. Closed toed, comfortable shoes are required for all field trips except those involving water.

Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.

You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board,” so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills,” “Lesson Plan,” “Daily Schedule,” “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes.”
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school. We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.
Children may be sent home if they have any concerning symptoms. Also, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
- A Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you for your support!
TUITION: Tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00 pm the fifth business day of every month will automatically receive a late fee of $25. If tuition is not paid in full by the 7th business day of each month, your child may not attend until the balance is paid in its entirety. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you’d like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your monthly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every month, just let us know, and we will help get you enrolled.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES: If your child is signed up to attend a specific enrichment program, the monthly fee must be paid in full the first week of every month, or your child may not attend the second week. Please understand, we are obligated to pay our physical fitness vendors promptly for their services. Credits will not be issued for missed classes due to absence or non-payment.
CATERED LUNCH PROGRAM ADVANCE ORDERING REQUIRED Monthly lunch order forms are available two weeks before each new month. Please be sure to turn your lunch order in with payment no later than the posted deadline. Late orders may not be honored. Pizza Friday orders for the entire month must also be turned in by the deadline. Ordering lunch is an optional service. You may also send lunch from home.
