It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
The Holiday season is approaching and we are super excited with all of our plans for this month. The weather is getting colder and we look forward to snowy days. Thank you to all of you, our Chesterbrook families that have helped make this a fun filled year. We have had classroom parties, birthday celebrations, special guests, and pajama day! The changing colors of Fall have been a key factor in our lesson planning for the classes and supporting our younger classes in color recognition. This month is filled with just as much adventure for learning, growing and just being kids. Please see below for reminders and updates as we head into another fantastic month. Thank you for choosing Chesterbrook Academy for your child’s Educational needs, and for allowing us to be part of such
Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home in email form and text alert as soon as the closure is announced. The closure will also be posted on Channels 10 and 6 news at the bottom of the screen. Be sure you see Chesterbrook Academy-Wayne as we have many locations that post to these channels.
Important Dates

- December 16th-20th- Holiday Shops being this week
- December 18th Visit from Mrs. Claus
Holiday Giving Project
We will be setting up a giving tree in the main lobby. Tags will be hanging from the branches and we are asking that you take a tag and purchase a gift for the age and gender of the child. We will be wrapping the gifts so please return the tag on them as well. They will be delivered to a local shelter in Philadelphia that have families that have recently been displaced this Holiday season. We will have our last collection day on December 13th, and deliver the gifts that Saturday.
Reminders
Please make sure that your child has a coat on each day. We will continue to go outdoors each day and want to make sure your child has the proper outdoor attire. Feel free to send mittens/gloves and hats for your child. it is essential for your child to be outdoors as often as we can, and as long as weather permits.
Winter Sweep has begun! Please check your child’s cubby for changes of clothes including socks in the event of a need to change them. It is important that all children have a change of clothes in their cubby. Please take a moment to check your child’s cubby.
Feel free to use the Tadpoles app to upload notes to your child’s teacher, days they are out sick or on vacation. The app is user friendly and can help us to be alerted when your child is not in attendance. It is also used by our teachers to share events that are going on in the classes like holiday parties, and lesson planned activities that may require additional support from you. Please use the app for it’s intended use as it has many features that can help make your mornings a little smoother.
