Welcome to the many new families who have joined our school community since the new year! We appreciate that you have chosen Chesterbrook Academy for your child’s early education.
By the last week of February, parents whose children have been with us since the beginning of the school year should expect to receive a parent report. This form of lead teacher communication will provide you with a detailed account of how your child is progressing in all areas of development. Assessments also assist teachers in adjusting the level of instruction to meet individual needs. Once you review your parent report, you are welcome to schedule a parent/teacher conference if you would like to discuss your child’s development further. Just speak to your child’s teacher. If you are new to Chesterbrook Academy, the next parent report will be sent home in June, right before the summer curriculum begins.
During the week of February 1st through the 13th, we will be having an educational Toy Drive for the heart patients. Please bring in an unwrapped toy and to drop off in the front lobby. On February 13th, we will host Heart Healthy Day, in which the students & facility will wear red clothing and on that day we will be selling goodies at the lemonade stand in the front lobby and the money as well as the toys will be given to JDCH representative.
In honor of National Heart Awareness Month, our students at Chesterbrook Academy in Pembroke Pines will host their 7th Annual Juliana’s Lemonade/Cupcake from the Heart Stand. We host this event for our Alumni student, Juliana Duperval (Ms. Jasmin’s daughter from our Pembroke Pines Sister School) Juliana suffers from a congenital heart defect that requires her to visit Joe Dimaggio’s Children’s Hospital often. She just recently had her 15th surgery. Juliana and her mother have started this event to bring learning and joy to children who could not be in the classroom. They will be here on Monday, February 3th, 2020 to sell goodies and lemonade, so bring your donations.
I cannot believe I am saying this, but Pre-K Parents, we are in the beginning stages of planning for our 2018 Pre-Kindergarten graduation ceremony and know you are anxiously waiting to hear when it will be. We are contacting Cooper City High School to find out availability and cost, more details we will be sent home soon.
Traditionally, graduation preparation is a joint effort between teachers, students, parents, and the administration. We look forward to working closely with you and enjoying this special milestone in your child’s life. Pre-K graduation updates will follow.
Registration for our inside families for all the students that qualify for VPK for the new school year 2020-21 will start Monday, February 3rd and will end Friday, February 7th.
