Fall is in full swing and our students are enjoying the extra outdoor time, nature walks and seasonal curriculum activities. We are planning a few fun fall themed activities for our students this month and are excited to share photos with you all through Links 2 Home. As the colder weather approaches, please make sure to bring in a jacket for your child every day – we spend lots of time outside learning and exploring the environment. Now is also a good time to update your child’s extra clothes. Make sure to send in some cooler weather clothes and we will make sure to send all warmer weather items home. Additionally, please make sure to label everything, including your child’s mask and jacket. We want to make sure everything brought to school makes its way back home. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Becky Anderson
Fall Picture Day
Everyone looks forward to Fall picture day! Unfortunately, this year, we will not be able to have Lifetouch Portrait Day at our school. However, we are planning on having a special Saturday picture day on Saturday October 24th. More details to come – make sure to check you inbox for updates!
New Spirit Wear Coming Soon
Later this month we will be emailing you all with information on how to order our awesome new Illinois themed school spirit wear. Our families and staff have supported each other and stuck together during this crazy time and we can’t wait to share our school pride with our community. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details!
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Students and teachers are hard at work coming up with ideas to decorate their classroom pumpkins. The pumpkins will be on display during morning drop off from October 26th– 30th and families will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite pumpkin. The winning class gets a special fall craft to take home and complete with their family members.
Halloween Parties
Our classrooms will be celebrating Halloween by enjoying special treats, doing crafts, listening to music and playing games with their classmates on Friday October 30th. You can send your child to school in their costume on Friday October 30th, but please make sure to send them with a change of clothes. They can change out of their classrooms after the parties. We know that families and staff typically look forward to class parties because they allow us to be together as a school community and give parents an opportunity to get to know their child’s classmates and parents. We are still not allowed to invite parents into our classrooms for celebrations and will be sharing extra photos with you all on Links 2 Home. Thank you for your positivity and flexibility!
