March is sure to be another busy month at Chesterbrook Academy. Spring is around the corner and teachers are busy planning a variety of fun seasonal activities that will help our students learn more about the many changes which occur in our environment during springtime. Be on the look-out for plants and flowers popping up around campus.
This month teachers and students in all age groups will be working hard at creating new dramatic play centers in their classrooms. Thank you for donating items or letting us borrow items to make dramatic play a quality experience. Dramatic play can be defined as a type of play where children accept and assign roles, and then act them out. It is a time when they break through the walls of reality, pretend to be someone or something different from themselves, and dramatize situations and actions to go along with the roles they have chosen to play. And while this type of play may be viewed as frivolous by some, it remains an integral part of the developmental learning process by allowing children to develop skills in such areas as abstract thinking, literacy, math, and social studies, in a timely, natural manner.
We would like to thank you for participating in our school surveys. We are so grateful to be able to hear your thoughts and opinions, and are taking them to heart to continually improve our program. We also greatly appreciate all the praise for our staff, school, and curriculum.
Thank you for taking advantage of our 21/22 Priority Registration and choosing Chesterbrook Academy for your child’s academic needs. As of March 1st we have now opened registration up to new incoming families. Don’t forget to tell your friends about Chesterbrook Academy. When they sign up and mention your name, you will receive a free week of tuition. See the front desk for more details.
