September News

From Our Principal:

Welcome Back to School!

Can you believe summer is almost over and school days have begun?  We are so excited to begin our 2021-2022 School Year with all of our returning and new families.  It is always so much fun getting to know everyone and seeing how much the children have grown since last year.

As we prepare for the new year, we are once again faced with the ever changing policies surrounding COVID.  Effective September 7th, all K-12 schools and certified childcare facilities must comply with the Secretary of Health’s mandate that states that all students aged 2 and above must wear a mask in a school setting.  Children are permitted to remove their masks when playing outside.

We will continue to monitor children’s and staff’s temperatures as they enter the building and have everyone wash their hands upon entering and frequently throughout the day.  All classrooms and bathrooms will be cleaned each night by our janitorial staff.  Our teachers will continue to disinfect high-touch areas and sanitize all toys as required.

All teachers,  parents,  and other adults entering the building must wear a mask.  If you do not have one, please check the table in the foyer for one before entering or call to let us know that you do not have one and wait outside.   Parents may walk down the hall to their child’s classroom, but we ask that you do not go inside the classroom.  Please just knock on the door to let the teachers know that you have arrived.

All nap mats and bedding should go home every Friday to be laundered.

If a child is sent home with a fever, cough, or stomach/intestinal issue; he /she must remain at home for 72 hours or has been fever free for 72 hours without taking any fever -reducing medication.  This practice has really helped keep our children safe and healthy.

Water bottles are encouraged.  Please make sure that your child’s name is on them and that you take them home each day to be washed and re-filled with fresh water.

Please remember to send in one or two complete changes of weather appropriate clothing for your child in the event of any spills or bathroom accidents.

Tuition is charged out on Sundays.  We ask that you pay the Friday before the upcoming week if paying by check or credit card.  ALMA payments can be made anytime Sunday or Monday.  If you want to participate in our ACH Automatic Payment Plan, please bring in a voided check and sign the form.  We will take care of getting you all set up.  Those payments come out overnight Monday into Tuesday. It is just important to keep current and on time to avoid any late payment fees.

Well enough of all of that.  Let’s get to the fun stuff!

Links to Learning is our curriculum, and it is amazing!  It is a literacy- based curriculum providing your children with many educational experiences in reading, mathematics, science, social studies, digital interactions, creative expression, wellness, citizenship, and social -emotional interactions.  I know you will enjoy the newsletters and projects that your child brings home to share with you.
