Dear Parents,
The holiday season is in full swing here at Chesterbrook Academy. Your participation in our school activities has been amazing! Your generous donations towards our Thanksgiving food drive brought in wondrous results! We are very grateful for your support and ongoing commitment to our Chesterbrook Academy community. YOU ROCK!
‘Tis the season for giving! We would like to continue reaching out to our community this month as well. In late November we asked you to donate drinking water for our annual Turkey Trot to be held in the Tradition area on Thanksgiving morning. Thanks to you several classrooms made their goal, and the great display of your generosity is in the lobby.
It’s time to explore December celebrations, observances, and activities from many cultures. What is another name for St. Nicholas? What is a Menorah? What is a Karamu? The answers to these questions will be highlighted in December lessons that will cover multi-cultural holiday traditions. Be sure to check out the pictures teachers will be sending home showcasing the classroom education boards to see evidence of learning fun! Speak to your child’s teacher if you would like to share a special tradition from your family with the class.
Stay tuned for exciting events coming up like our “Pajama Party Breakfast and Book Exchange!” This has become an exciting annual event where students come to school in their pajamas and enjoy breakfast foods. Children are able to bring in one wrapped book to exchange with a classmate and one unwrapped book for the classroom library. The students enjoy seeing the books their classmates receive and a stocked library with books from their peers!
