August News

backtoschool1

We will be wrapping up the summer camp program soon and focusing on the new school year.  We are very pleased with the many hands on learning activities the students have had the opportunity to complete during the summer months.  The top picks seem to be the pretzel making event, Rocket Ryan Science, and the in house projects such as making their own playdough, creating edible art and of course water play.

In the upcoming weeks we will be transitioning some of the students into new classrooms.  The transition is done typically in August and revisited in January for additional transitions if needed.  Each child is placed in the age appropriate classroom based on the curriculum they need to complete skills for kindergarten readiness.  We are unlike public school that does a mass move annually to a new room.  We must remain in compliance with state regulations for ratios with staff and children which also impacts how we transition children.  If your child will be transitioning you will receive communication from the office, clearly describing the process.  A transition takes a full week to complete and there are specific steps defined in the letter families are given.

reminderWith the new school year it is time to check your child’s cubby box for items that may need attention.  Every child needs a complete set of clothes, including shoes, and a small blanket/sheet. Remove all other items from the cubby.  Never put medication, lotions, or items that state Keep out of Reach of children in the cubby box.

We are excited about the SUPERFAN fundraising event being held this month!  A nice way to do gift shopping early for the sports fans in your world.  Catalogs are being sent home the week of August 1st.  Orders due back by August 15th or go online to do your shopping.  We will be using funds from the sale to purchase items for the playground areas in all ages.  tricycle

Thank you for supporting our school and allowing us to care for your child.
