It has been a very exciting and busy start to the school year! Our fall garden is ready to go, filled with cabbage, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, collard greens, cauliflower, beets and more! The kids have been hard at work learning about soil, harvesting seeds and the scientific method. In October we have a visit from Betsy Beltz, head gardener at Longwood Gardens! We will also be starting our school wide composting program. In November we began studying wetlands, watersheds and why protecting our freshwater habitats is so important. 5th grade began their rain garden designs and 1st grade took a field trip to the Brandywine Red clay Alliance.
