Classroom Notes

September is the time for busy hands. Our theme this year is Outer Space and we’ve already dived right in! Pre-Kindergarten painted outer spacescapes. Kindergarten learned printmaking and made crater-filled moons. First grade used wax-resist and ink to create galaxies and second grade designed aliens to live in them! Third grade bound sketchbooks and designed historical houses from local sources; fourth grade made contour drawings of their faces that they’re turning into 3D prints. And fifth grade is learning digital design with an Amy Sherald-inspired portrait series!
