Ms. Tomeshia Lyons - Kindergarten Teacher

Get to Know CBA’s Kindergarten Teacher

Hello! My name is Tomeshia Lyons. I love teaching because it allows you to connect with children and be the reason that they love to learn or even choose their career or passion. You see all of the little moments and are present for the smiles and encouraging sessions, that are essential for life as they grow. Creating relationships with my students are important but also forming a bond with parents allows everyone to collaborate with the child’s success as the top priority. I remember ALL of my teachers from Kindergarten to College and the reason why I will never forget them is because they made sure that I succeeded to my highest potential. I want to be that impactful for all of my students.

I love the color purple.
I enjoy cooking and pretend to have my own cooking show, often.
I love SMILING and HAVING FUN!

I’ve been teaching for 11 years but have had the pleasure of being a part of the CBA family for 9 years. After graduating from Peace College with a BA in Psychology and Child Development, I started out as Mrs. Brusca’s Teacher Assistant and have taught our CBA Intermediates program and PreK program. I have been teaching Kindergarten for two years and I absolutely love it!

I have taken a number of professional development classes that also allows me to cater to the whole child.

In partnership, I am grateful to work alongside Kim Hancock. Mrs. Hancock has been a part of our CBA family since 1986. She enjoys reading, incorporating art into academics, and supporting students with handwriting.

She loves CATS!

She loves NATURE!

She loves taking care of our classroom pets, Scabbard (hermit crab) and Walter (leopard gecko)!

Together, we make learning fun and memorable with hands-on learning, songs, rhymes, and our curriculum-based field trips!
