Get to Know CBA’s Spanish Teacher

I love teaching at CBA because of the small group sizes. This allows the teacher to get to know each student individually and adapt to each child’s specific needs. That’s the best way to ensure that all students achieve success in the classroom.

  • I was born in NY, but I lived in the Dominican Republic since I was 13 years old. I completed high school and college there.
  • I learned enough French in high school to go to France with my grandmother and be able to communicate effectively.
  • I enjoy assisting my husband in the website design process and have even taken a few web design courses.

I majored in Psychology with a specialty in Clinical Psychology. I have been teaching since my sophomore year of college in the Dominican Republic. I taught ESL in the Dominican Republic for 3 years before moving to the United States.

When I moved to the US, I started teaching ELA & S.S. in 4th grade at the Cary CBA. After completing 2 successful years with CBA Cary, I transferred to CBA Raleigh to start a new journey as this school’s Spanish teacher.

Classroom Notes

Our Focus!

Each of our classrooms focus on the fundamentals of the Spanish language while developing skills in speaking and listening comprehension. We introduce basic grammatical structures and basic everyday vocabulary while practicing proper pronunciation along the way!

Another important foundation we touch upon is introducing cultural diversity to you Pre-K – 5th Grade students. This cultural enrichment helps students to understand life outside the classroom while learning tradition skills. The core four traditions are listening, speaking, reading and writing.

See Classroom Resources for additional tools to help your child excel in Spanish!
