May Newsletter

Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,

WOW – April was a busy, engaging, entertaining month full of incredible learning opportunities for our students!

We have been to the moon and back as we explored the vast solar system and the planet we call home! The children learned about weather phenomenon and patters across the globe, as well as ways in which we can keep our planet healthy during our Earth Day celebrations and discussions. We concluded our month by learning about bees, bugs and butterflies – oh my!

Here’s what we have planned for May:
Teacher Appreciation Week – May 4th – May 8th

Teacher Appreciation Week was started by the National Education Association to recognize the commitment and dedication teachers demonstrate all year long to the growth and development of their students, their families and schools.

Throughout this week, we are presented with an opportunity to celebrate this special group of educators and all they do each and every day to best prepare their students for a bright future.

Should you wish to participate, we have created a few special ways families can help show their appreciation.

Monday, May 4th – Sweets for Your Sweet
Bring in a special sweet treat to give to your teachers to enjoy! Please avoid products with nuts or leave nut treats in the front office for teachers to pick up.

Tuesday, May 5th – Flowers for Teachers
Whether store bought, picked from your yard, or a flower picture – it’s the thought that counts

Wednesday, May 6th – Spa Day
Everyone needs to chance to unwind! Consider bringing a gift with a relaxing theme. Some ideas are lotions, scented soaps, candles, music or maybe a good book.

Thursday, May 7th – Gifts from the Heart
A picture or a card from your student to show their appreciation would be wonderful!

Friday, May 8th – Thank You Lunch
We will be hosting a Pot Luck Lunch for the Teachers. We would love for you to share your favorite dishes! Please visit the front desk to sign up for this favorite event!

Thank you for helping us demonstrate our appreciation for this wonderful team and as always, thank you for sharing your children with us J

Kind Regards,

Ms. Rebecca

Reminders:

  • Please refrain from allowing your children to wear costumes to school. Aside from being potentially unsafe on the playground, they also present a distraction in the classroom. If you have any questions concerning our uniform or dress code, please let us know. We would be happy to provide some direction.
  • Please keep personal toys at home. We have also noticed an influx of toys from home being brought into class. Again – these items present a disruption for our students. We ask that no toys be brought to school so that our students may focus on our classroom materials
  • Please do NOT share the code for the door. If you have someone different picking up your child please have them ring the bell.
  • Please do NOT leave children unattended in your car.

Please Bring in Your Sunscreen:  The warm weather is here and it time for our teachers to apply sun screen to help protect your little ones skin. Please bring in a bottle of sunscreen to leave at school for the teachers to apply before the children go outside.

UpdatesDates to Remember:
