Welcome to Chesterbrook Academy at Ellis Preserve!

Welcome to Chesterbrook Academy at Ellis Preserve!

My name is Lisa Delaney and I am the principal at Chesterbrook Academy at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square, PA. I am looking forward to our Grand Opening in January 2016! I am excited to introduce you to our newest preschool in Pennsylvania, until then, I will share some information about myself.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher.  I was born and raised in Drexel Hill,  attended Archbishop Prendergast High School and graduated from West Chester University with a BSED in Elementary Education.  I married my husband John in 1992 and accepted a full time teaching position as a First Grade teacher in Springfield, PA!  I then transitioned to Kindergarten where I remained through the 1997 school year and the birth of our second son.  We moved to West Chester in 1999 where we raised our two sons who currently attend Penn State University.

Today I am a preschool principal and continue to be an educator.  My transition from the elementary setting to preschool began in 2000.  As soon as I began my career in Early Learning, I knew this was where I was always meant to be!  Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with talented leaders and educators while partnering with engaged families.

I became PreK teacher at The Kid’s Academy Early Learning Center in West Chester, PA.  Here I developed and implemented a comprehensive Pre-Kindergarten program for the center.  This was my home away from home for the next eight years.  In 2008, I briefly returned to the Kindergarten classroom before accepting a position as the Center Director at Creative Kid’s Early Learning Center in Downingtown.

I joined Chesterbrook Academy in July 2010 as a Preschool Principal at our Limerick location.  During my time at Chesterbrook Academy, I have obtained my National and Pennsylvania Director’s Credential, served as a district Links to Learning Curriculum Trainer, and served on the NLCI National Education Advisory Council of Principals.

In my leisure, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, dancing, and catching up on the latest novel.  I love spending time at the beach and look forward to some traveling with my husband as we embark on the next chapter of our lives as “empty nesters”.

Best regards,

Lisa Delaney
