Dear Parents,
Welcome to the many new families who have joined our school community since the new year! We appreciate that you have chosen Chesterbrook Academy for your child’s early education.
By the end of the first week in February, parents whose children have been with us since the beginning of the school year should expect to receive a parent report regarding your child’s progress. This form of lead teacher communication is to provide you with a detailed account of how your child is progressing in all ares of development. Assessments also helps teachers to adjust the level of instruction to meet individual needs. Once you review your child’s report you are welcome to schedule a parent/teacher conference if you would like to discuss the teachers findings further. Just let us know. If you are new to Chesterbrook Academy, the next parent report will be sent home in May, right before the summer curriculum begins.
Pre-K Parents, we are in the beginning stages of planning for our 2016 Pre-Kindergarten graduation ceremony and know you are anxiously waiting to hear when it will be. At this time, the date, location and exact time are yet to be determined, but we will inform you as soon as definite plans have been made. Traditionally, graduation preparation is a joint effort between teachers, students, parents and the administration. We look forward to working closely with you and enjoying this special milestone in your child’s life. Further communication will follow soon.
Intermediate Parents, from classrooms #5 & #6….VPK registration is now open to the public. If you have not done so already, please get your voucher in. We had an overwhelming show of new families who attended our recent Open House to reserve a space for VPK. We are already nearing capacity! Our score for last years Kindergarten Readiness was 98%! The word on the street is….. Chesterbrook Academy is the place to be for VPK!
Please continue to read below….so much is going on this month and we do not want you to miss a thing!
Sweetest regards,
Melinda Willey, Principal

SICK POLICY REMINDER:
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school. We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.
Sick Policy:
Children may be sent home if they have any concerning symptoms. In addition, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
- A Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and generally not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know. Thank you for your support!
TUITION:
We have seen a recent increase in families missing tuition payment deadlines. We really must collect tuition in a timely manner to meet our financial obligations. Please remember that tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00pm the second business day of every month are subject to late fees. If tuition is not paid in full by the 7th business day of each month your child may not attend until the balance is paid in full. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you’d like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your monthly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every month, just let us know and we will get you signed up.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES:
If your child is signed up to attend a specific enrichment program, the monthly fee must be paid in full the first week of every month or your child may not attend the second week. Please understand, we are obligated to pay our physical fitness vendors in a timely manner for their services. Credits will not be issued for missed classes due to absence or non-payment.
