Dear Chesterbrook Families,
I hope the April showers we are sure to get bring May flowers as colorful and beautiful as the one above. April is an extremely busy and exciting month here at Chesterbrook Academy in Marlton! In addition to our monthly pajama days and taco Tuesdays, we have our Week of the Young Child and Earth Day activities happening in the next few weeks. Please be sure to read all the information below to catch up on all the news!
April 11-15 is the Week of the Young Child. WOYC is an annual celebration started by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Here are the highlighted events for Week of the Young Child:
Music Monday- Each class will have a dance party.
Taco Tuesday- Taco building fun will begin at 11:30.
Work Together Wednesday- Our older students will be a “buddy” to a younger student. They will either read to the younger student, work on building with blocks or create artwork together.
Artsy Thursday- Children will be provided different art materials to make their own creations.
April 19th is our Family Recycling Event from 5:30-7:30. Families are invited to join us for a night of fun to make creations from recyclable materials! Stay tuned for more information.
April 22nd is Earth Day and our Annual Ladybug Release! If you have not yet participated in one of our annual ladybug release days, you have to experience this! We will release 3,000 ladybugs onto our playground to help celebrate Earth Day 2016. Join us for the fun at 10am. Don’t forget to wear red and black that day J!
On April 30th from 7am-3pm, CPAT (Chesterbrook Parent Activity Team) will host their 2nd Annual Yard Sale. If you would like more information, or to reserve your space at the yard sale, email CPAT at ChesterbrookCPAT@gmail.com.
I am beyond excited to let you know of improvements to our playground on the “big side” of our school (outside of the Intermediate and KG classrooms)! The smaller back play structure is set to be removed and replaced with a large art easel, an outdoor drum set and a climbing structure!!! Our teachers have always used the playground as an extension of their classrooms by extending art and music outside and now our new equipment will support their efforts! Construction is scheduled to begin this Thursday April 7th and be completed Friday April 8th. These scheduled dates are weather permitting and during the construction, for the safety of all students, the outdoor playground will not be used. We cannot wait to see the anticipation as our students watch the construction of their new playground and the excitement on their faces when they get to play on their new playground !
A friendly reminder… tuition is due each Friday for the following week of care. Tuition is considered late if paid after 12pm on Monday. Avoid a $25 late payment fee by signing up for automatic withdrawal (see attached ACH form) or taking advantage of our new credit card payment option! See Kasey or Superior for details.
As always, please see Kasey or Superior with any questions, concerns, suggestions and compliments. Your feedback helps make our school and programs stronger!
