Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
Where did the month of September go??? We have had so much learning fun in this back to school time that the month of September has flown by. October is upon us and we are so excited for the learning fun to continue. Fall is my favorite season because of the plethora of sensory experiences the students get to encounter. Seeing the leaves change color. Hearing the crunch of the leaves as we step on them. Feeling the crisp cool air and the insides of slimy pumpkins. Smelling the scents of pies baking. And tasting the delicious flavors of apple and pumpkin. Throughout the month, teachers will use the fall season to boost learning, from sorting and graphing leaves by color to exploring the insides of a pumpkin and planting pumpkin seeds to watch them grow and experience firsthand the life cycle of a plant.
We have many fun activities planned throughout the month of October including a Fall Festival on October 20th, a Pumpkin decorating day on October 27th and our annual Halloween Parade on October 31st. We also have fun dress up days planned! Wear your Eagles jersey on October 12th and 23rd, Crazy Hat day on October 18th and “Dress in Orange Day” on October 25th. Be sure to check out our October calendar to check out other fun happenings throughout the month.
Our Extra Fun Extra Curricular activities will continue throughout October:
Soccer Shots – Tuesdays at 10am
Lil’ Sports – Wednesdays at 10am
Makin’ Music – Thursdays at 10am
As you can see, we have lots of fun activities going on throughout the month of October. Don’t miss out on any of the learning fun!
