They say that November is a month to show gratitude for all of the wonderful things we have in our lives. Well, this year, I’m personally most thankful to be kicking off our very first holiday season as a CBA Drexel community! On behalf of our entire team, we can’t wait to make many exciting memories with your children in the weeks to come, and we hope that you’ll join us for some of the fun!

Here’s a quick look at the many things to come this month:
CHESTERBROOK ELECTION DAY
Tuesday, November 7th
Rock the vote! Our students will learn all about the importance of Election Day as they participate in our own school-wide election! Our Intermediate class will select a topic to be voted on during drop-off on Tuesday morning, while our Pre-K students will tally up and announce the election results on Wednesday. More details to come!
SCHOOL CLOSED – TEACHER IN-SERVICE
Friday, November 10th
Chesterbrook Academy will be closed on Friday, November 10th for Teacher In-Service. Our teachers will participate in a full day of training to support the implementation of Links to Learning in our classrooms. We will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, November 13th, and can’t wait to share with you everything we learn!
WORLD KINDNESS DAY
Monday, November 13th
Kindness makes the world go around, and CBA Drexel students are the kindest around! Our students will design and create kindness rocks in conjunction with The Kindness Rocks Project. Our Intermediate and Pre-K classes will then walk to Drexel’s Community Garden (behind our school) to lay the positive rocks for local commuters to enjoy. More details to come!
THANKSGIVING FAMILY FOOD DRIVE
Wednesday, November 15th
Our team will partner with Philabundance for special one-day food drive event to help give families-in-need a very happy Thanksgiving holiday. Start saving up your canned goods and non-perishable food items to drop off on Wednesday, November 15th. The class that contributes the most food items will win an ice cream party! More details to come!
CRAZY HAIR DAY
Tuesday, November 21st
Pigtails with zig zag parts! Neon green or hot pink highlights! In preschool, we love to be silly, so silly is what we’ll be! Wear your craziest, wackiest, most bonkers hair style! Which class will have the silliest hair-do?
SCHOOL CLOSED – THANKSGIVING
Thursday, November 23rd
Chesterbrook Academy will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We will re-open for normal business hours on Friday, November 24th. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday!
SCHOOL OPEN – BLACK FRIDAY
Friday, November 24th
Did you know that Chesterbrook Academy is open every year on Black Friday? Whether you have to work a normal day or just need to get some holiday shopping done, our team will be here to engage your child in a day of learning and play.
