Can you believe it is August already? My oh my this summer is flying by. But before it escapes us, we here at Chesterbrook Academy are going to make the most out of this last month of summer. Our summer of sensory experiences continues with weekly water play days, hands-on science experiments, seed planting and cooking projects. Our themes throughout the month of August include: Artful Antics, Hometown Helpers and Animal Dream Home. Students will learn all about how to be future artists, policemen, firefighters and nature lovers.
Our Visitors Through the Month of August:
August 8th – Judy Tudy’s Magic Show
August 13th – Visit from the Fire Company
August 23rd – What-Knott Farm Petting Zoo
Our Travel Campers Field Trips for the Month of August:
August 7th – Color Me Mine
August 14th – Railroad Museum
August 21st – Elmwood Park Zoo
A Note From Our Principal,
Thank you all for your participation in our Kids Helping Kids initiative this summer! With your support, we raised $162 for the HEADstrong foundation. We are grateful for the opportunity to watch our students serve others these past few weeks and appreciate the role you all had in this.
We still have a few more weeks of summer, but our teachers are hard at work preparing our classrooms for the new school year. Many of our students will be transitioning into new classrooms at the end of this month, and classroom specific information will be sent home the last two weeks of August.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Please give me a call or stop by the office any time!
Sincerely,
Erin Hayes
