A Note From Our Principal
The year is off to a great start so far and we are super excited about the things to come. We have slowly been incorporating new things into our curriculum to challenge our students and the outcome has been amazing. We are so happy that our school has continued to grow and we were able to welcome a few new families with the new year. Thank you to all of our existing families for spreading the word and for being part of the Wayne CBA family for this long. We appreciate your support and look forward to many more exciting years together! As you know this newsletter will contain some updates, reminders and important dates to remember. As we look to this very short month we want to remind you how important you are to us here and that we want to celebrate you on Valentines day.,so be sure to check the front lobby on the 14th for a special treat from all of us at your Wayne Chesterbrook Academy. Here’s hoping for a Spring that blooms all the success of our families here and to the future! Priority Enrollment for the 2018-2019 School Year! Are you planning on re-enrolling for the next school year? We hope so! Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can ensure your child is placed on the roster. Our management team is available to address any questions or concerns you have, and we will soon be sending out student enrollment paperwork. Please keep an eye out for this and don’t miss it! Your child’s class will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14th at 3:30 with a special craft and snack. Parents are always welcome, but photos will be shared on Links 2 Home as well. Please note that some of our teachers that leave prior to 3:30 may post an earlier party time, please check the sign ups for those changes. Our teachers will also send home Tadpole reminders.
Important Dates and Reminders:
- February 14th, 3:30 Valentine day parties for the classes unless posted class specific differently.
- February 17th School is closed for President’s day, Teacher in-service day.
- February 26th Ash Wednesday
- February 28th Parent Folders go home
Illness Policy (NAEYC Standard 10.B.19)
Parents assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all our children by keeping sick
children at home. The purpose of our sick child policy is to:
• Reduce the spread of illness from a sick child to other children.
• Promote complete recuperation of the sick child.
• Prevent the constant spread of cold, flu and diarrhea that are so common among small children.
Parents must keep sick children at home until they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours if
they display any of the following:
• Fever of 100 degrees or more.
Children must be free of fever for at least
24 hours, unassisted by fever-reducing
medication before returning to school.
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Heavy nasal discharge requiring
frequent wiping every 3-5 minutes
• Persistent, non-productive or “barking”
cough
• Sore throat
• Fussy, cranky behavior unlike the
child’s normal demeanor
• Skin rash, including diaper rash
• Head lice
• Symptoms of a communicable disease
such as pink eye, measles, chicken pox,
mumps, or strep throat
We reserve the right to refuse admittance to any student who shows a sign of illness. Children who
become ill at school will be made comfortable and parents will be notified to pick them up within the hour.
