Dear Chesterbrook Academy Parents,
Fall is in full swing and our students are enjoying the extra outdoor time, nature walks and seasonal curriculum activities. We are planning fall themed activities for our students this month and are excited to share photos with you all through Links 2 Home.
The week of October 5th is National Health Week so Health is our theme. The week of October 12th our theme is Fall and Leaves. The week of October 19th our theme is Friendship and the week of October 25th our theme is Halloween. I will be reading the following read aloud books to our students this month: Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf, A Friend Like You and Seed Sprout Pumpkin Pie. Also, our students will be engaging in October Art Projects one per week. So, be looking for some amazing art projects coming home. We have some fun outdoor Fall/Halloween games planned as well.
Our October Spirit Days are as follows:
Wednesday, October 7th – Dress Like A Doctor
Wednesday, October 14th – Wear Favorite Sports Team clothing
Wednesday October 28th – Wear Orange and Black or Halloween clothing
Our Picture Day will be held on Tuesday, October 20th and Make Ups will be on Wednesday, October 21st. Lifetouch our photographers will be taking students photographs while adhering to our health and safety guidelines. Unfortunately, we just found out the company is unable to do sibling photographs this year due to health and safety protocols.
The week of October 26th we will be holding a Pumpkin Patch event for our students. We are asking parents and staff to donate pumpkins of all sizes. We will be placing these pumpkins in our back playground creating a pumpkin patch and students will search for the perfect pumpkin to bring home. Please donate pumpkins if you can.
Our classrooms will be celebrating Halloween by dressing in Halloween costumes, engaging in Halloween crafts and playing outdoor games with their classmates on October 30th. Students can wear their costumes all day or change into them after nap time. We know that families and staff typically look forward to classroom Halloween parties because they allow us to be together as a school community and give parents an opportunity to get to know their child’s classmates and parents. We are still not allowed to invite parents into our classrooms for celebrations and will be sharing extra photos with you all on Links 2 Home. Thank you for your positivity and flexibility!
Later this month we will be emailing you all with information on how to order our awesome new Chesterbrook Academy themed school spirit wear. Our families and staff have supported each other and stuck together during this crazy time and we cannot wait to share our school pride with our community. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details!
