Dear Chesterbrook Families,
Happy Spring! The warm weather is upon us and our classrooms have been immersed in lessons related to all things Spring including spring weather, butterflies, flowers, and much more!
We will start the month off by celebrating The Week of the Young Child April 3rd through 7th. Week of the Young Child recognizes young students, their teachers, and their families for all their hard work. This annual event, sponsored by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), allows us to showcase the importance of early childhood education, our Links to Learning curriculum, and everyone who makes it possible. We have many fun activities planned for Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday. We will also be having a spirit week that week so be sure to check the monthly calendar on the website and your child’s daily reports for more information.
Our classrooms will also be having Spring Parties next week. You should see information related to this on your child’s daily report or on the classroom door. In April we will also be celebrating Earth Day on Friday, April 21st with our annual Ladybug Release. We invite everyone to dress up like a ladybug and/or wear red and black that day. The ladybug release will take place during your child’s morning outside time. We cannot wait to share photos with you!
As the weather begins to warm up, please make sure to refresh the spare clothing in your child’s cubby. Take home anything that no longer fits and leave a few spare sets of well-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes.
We look forward to another month of learning and growing with your child!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristie Salmon
