Learning at Chesterbrook Academy is an active, joyful experience driven by our literacy-based framework. Our educators utilize our signature Links to Learning curriculum to dive deeply into immersive weekly themes.

• Deep Text Exploration: We take central books and dissect them to build critical thinking. Students learn to make predictions, explore new language and early mathematical concepts, identify structural elements like the author, illustrator, and spine, and more. 
• Child-Centric Lesson Plans: Our teachers have the professional freedom to tailor lessons directly to student interests. A curiosity about cars organically expands into a multi-disciplinary study of transportation, community helpers, and engineering.
• Real-World Connections: Lessons regularly bridge the classroom to real life, exploring diverse family traditions and cultures to celebrate what makes each of us unique.

From infants engaging with books through animated storytimes to Pre-K students confidently taking on leadership roles in the classroom, our curriculum encourages every child to participate, explore, and grow each day. 

Deep Experience and Uncompromised Safety

The true heart of our school is our dedicated team of educators, who work each day to ensure every child feels safe, welcomed, and valued. With more than 30 years of experience in early childhood education, I am proud to lead an enthusiastic team that includes many long-tenured educators. Our staff includes a toddler teacher who has been with us for more than 15 years, an infant teacher with 10 years at our school, and an Assistant Principal who has grown into a leadership role over the past five years.

That experience is supported by ongoing professional development and a strong commitment to safety. Our educators are First Aid and CPR certified, and four have earned advanced Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification. Families also have peace of mind knowing our school features regularly updated door access codes, strict name-to-face attendance procedures, and automated security alarms on all exterior doors and playground gates.

Environments Built for Discovery

Our campus is intentionally designed for everyday exploration and growth. A freshly updated entrance and beautifully painted facilities open directly onto our large playground, which is thoughtfully sectioned into separate, age-specific areas for safe peer play. Dedicated covered patios sit right off our infant and toddler classrooms, seamlessly extending the learning environment outdoors. This connection to nature is completed by our student-tended school garden, where children discover their very first lessons about science and the physical world.

Our graduates leave Chesterbrook Academy academically prepared and eager to learn. Many continue on to highly regarded private elementary schools and premier local kindergarten programs, where families often share that their children stand out for their confidence, independence, and strong academic foundation.
