Happy August! The heat is definitely upon us! The summer days are slipping away quickly, but the momentum is still going strong here at Chesterbrook Academy. Our sensory gardens are growing green, our playground has been mulched and the landscapers have spruced up the trimming and mowing around the property. News of the ground breaking of the new playground is coming soon, I just spoke with the corporate office this week and quotes are being finalized.
Our classrooms are starting to take on new looks as we prepare this month to get ready for “Back to School” mode. There are some classroom teacher changes and room changes; this will be communicated to each family closer to the end of August. The staff and I would love if you would come to our Premier Night for Back to School on August 26th to see your child’s new classroom and meet the teacher. Refreshments will be served and a slide show of our wonderful summer activities will be showing for all to see in the main lobby. Our new academic year will begin on August 31st, 2015.
Mid-August we will be welcoming back many of our children who were on hiatus for the summer. The school will be very busy. Just a reminder about the security of our building; do not share the door code with your children or allow them to punch in the numbers. The code is for the protection of your child and others. If you do not know the person walking in behind you, do not let them in; allow them to punch in the code themselves. The sign in and out binder next to the parent mail folders is another way we keep your children safe. Noting the times your children arrive and leave helps us track which adult brought or picked up the child. Our teachers also keep records of attendance in the classrooms, so please make sure your child’s teacher acknowledges you at drop off or pick up; especially when picking your children up from the playground areas. Thank you for helping to keep our children safe.
Our summer campers thank all who donated baked goods for the Pet Pantry Bake Sale held last week. We also thank all who are donating pet supplies for the Pet Pantry as well. All monies and donated items will be given to the charity on August 18th at the Fun Day set aside for the summer camp children.
They campers have been experiencing many wonderful activities and places this summer. It is hard to believe that camp is over very soon. I look forward to having our current campers and maybe some new faces for summer of 2016. See Miss Lauren or myself if interested.
Our preschool will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, August 8th from 10- 1 PM for new families.
Our $500.00 Parent Referral program is still available for a while longer! Refer someone you know who may be looking for a preschool or childcare to us and receive a wonderful reward!
Once again, thank you for allowing us to teach, nurture and love your children every day! The staff and I are looking very forward to an exceptional academic school year full of wonder, experiences, learning and growth in each and every child that attends our warm and friendly school.
With Warmest Regards,
Wendy A. Musser, Principal
