April News

A Message from the Principal:

We are looking forward to another exciting month! Please take a moment to look at our April newsletter here to learn more details.

Important Dates:

Thursday, April 7th is Picture Day!

You will find a flier in your child’s cubby this afternoon if you would like to choose what color background for the picture. Please return these to your child’s teacher by Thursday morning. Bring your child dressed in their picture day outfit and we will change them out of it after their picture is taken. If your child is not regularly scheduled to attend on Thursday, you are welcome to bring your child by for the picture between 7:30am-11:30am.

April 11-15th is the Week of the Young Child

Throughout the week our classrooms will be participating in fun events (see the attached newsletter for details). On Friday, April 15th, all families are invited into your child’s classroom at 3:30pm to read/listen to stories and share family pictures. A fun snack will also be provided! The principal of our Chesterbrook Academy Kids Campus will also be here on the 15th to answer any questions parents may have about our Kindergarten program in Chantilly!

Earth Day Ladybug Release: Friday, April 22nd at 10am

In addition to all of the fun Earth Day activities our students will be doing, Chesterbrook Academy will be participating in our annual ladybug release. Students will help to release over 3,000 ladybugs this morning. Families are welcome to attend and please send your child to school wearing red and black!

Teacher Appreciation Week: May 2nd through 6th:

Our teachers are very important to us and we appreciate all of their hard work. Each day we would like to celebrate them in a special way. Please find details in the attached newsletter. A binder will be located at the front desk with information about what the teachers like, etc. if you need ideas on how to celebrate them.

Please welcome Ms. Ekim:

Today you will see a new face in our school. Ms. Ekim has a passion for teaching and is continuing her education in the early childhood field. She will only be assisting in the afternoons for now and then full time during the summer months. Please stop and say hello if you see her!

Best of Luck to Ms. Beverly:

You probably all know Ms. Beverly who assists not only in the kitchen, but also in classrooms throughout our school. She will be moving to Pennsylvania and transferring to another Chesterbrook Academy location there. Her last day will be Friday, April 29th. Ms. Beverly will be missed, but we are glad she is staying with the Chesterbrook Academy family.

Save the Date: Mother’s Day Tea on Friday, May 6th at 3:30pm
