Summer has come to an end and another school year is upon us. We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new families, and a sincere thank you to returning families and those that chose to spend their summer with us. We enjoyed making memories with your children and hope you had a great summer camp season! We recognize that this is a busy time for many families and are using this month’s school newsletter to include reminders on school closures, communication, security and more. Our renovation and expansion project is completed!!! We appreciate your patience during the past 6 months and hope you are as excited as I am that our school has a fresh, new look with many new classroom materials coming this month.
For the upcoming school year, our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days per year. For the 2019-2020 school year the days we are closed are:
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
In addition, our staff development days are held on Veteran’s Day and President’s Day and school is closed.
So many great faces have joined our team this year! Be sure to meet all our staff at Back To School Nights which will be announced this week.
If you’re not currently receiving photos and daily reports for your child, you can easily change this by downloading the Links 2 Home app on your phone. Just type ‘Links 2 Home’ in the search bar for the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After downloading Links 2 Home you can register with the same email address that you used to enroll your child in our school. Links 2 Home also allows you to leave drop-off notes for your child and notify your child’s teacher of absences. If you’re having issues accessing Links 2 Home please let us know.
With so many new families starting in the fall this is a great time to review security procedures. It is important to keep the door code safe. In addition, change in pick up must be cleared at the front desk. When you arrive at school, use the IPAD to check your child in and do not check out until you have retrieved your child at the end of the day. We also remind you that treats and food items brought to school must be pre-packaged and marked “School safe-peanut free”. This will ensure all our students are safe from allergy concerns.
It’s time to get spiffed up for fall pictures! Lifetouch will be taking photos of our students on Tuesday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 2. Please send your student to school in the clothes you want them to wear for their photo. All photos will be taken before lunch to ensure optimal cuteness.
In today’s connected world, many families turn to online reviews to learn more about schools for their children. That is why we are asking you to take a few minutes to visit our school profile on Yelp, Google or GreatSchools to share the wonderful experiences you have had with our school.
